A Rainy Moxhull Hall Engagement Shoot

Sitting under an overturned boat on the beach as a child whilst the British rain did it’s worse was probably in the long run a good call by my parents.  It’s been good preparation for carrying on and enjoying what you do what ever the weather!

When I say it was raining when I met Gemma and Ian for their engagement shoot it wasn’t just a trickle or a splash, it was full on power shower force.  With little dog Milo joining us we headed for the beautiful grounds of Moxhull Hall which is going to be their wedding venue and continued as usual with the help of a few sheltered spots and a brolly!

Moxhull Hall is a “beautiful victorian building which combines contemporary elegance with some magnificent features” this is so very true, I can’t wait to shoot Gem and Ian’s wedding day there, it’s going to be so special and I hope the sunshine makes an appearence!

See you guys soon, Becky xx

Elvaston Castle Engagement shoot

I Met up with Caroline and Darren the other evening at Elvaston Castle, it was one of those days will or won’t it rain however with the thunder storm behind us we decided to shoot. Both of them quickly became at ease with me and the camera. Darren supporting a healing broken arm managed to woo Caroline in the court yard. We had a great walk around the grounds and discussed the final details of their big day at Lakeside.

Looking forward to the wedding guys

Engagement at Colwick Hall

Simon &  Michelle are getting married next month at the beautiful Colwick Hall. Colwick Hall is a palladian style Georgian country house mansion, with stunning grounds giving us the opportunity of fab photography.

It was great to see them both excited and Michelle knew straight away how she wanted the style of the album to be. The Jorgensen styla album with white leather cover,  both stylish and chic perfect for telling the story of their big day.

Here’s a few from the engagement shoot at Colwick Hall.

This Image below is my favorite made even more special as Michelle and Simon choose this for their signature board.

The ceiling in this ceremony room is stunning for photographs

Sneaky Peek from our Nottingham Sikh Wedding

It was an amzing few days, following and capturing the Sikh wedding of Chandeni and Jas. Here’s just a quick image, while we sort through the many captured of their ceremonies, celebrations and emotions.

Thrumpton Hall Wedding Engagement

Thrumpton Hall in Nottingham, was our beautiful location for Lorna and Paul’s engagement shoot the other weekend. Set in beautiful rolling Nottinghamshire parkland, Thrumpton Hall is set to be the stunning venue for Paul and Lorna’s wedding day.

They’re a fabulous couple and I’m really enjoying the lead up to their wedding day, they are both going to look amazing!!

See you both in a few weeks!! xx

Nottingham Lifestyle Shoots

No wedding to shoot last weekend, didn’t mean we had a weekend off there was plenty booked in for us to photograph and have a bit of fun! Along with a couple of engagement shoots for us, on Sunday I photograhed a family lifestyle portrait session at Wollaton Park Nottingham and then headed off for a 2nd Birthday Party, at Manor Farm in Loughborough.

So while we’re busy editing away I just thought I’d give you a couple of sneak peeks, Calum from his lifestyle session and ‘donkey’ dressed by the wonderful ladies from Fabric Theatre. (He was quite comfy in his bow time, I think he stirred just a little from his afternoon nap!).

We’ll post more from all our shoots very soon! Becky x

Osmaston Park Engagement

It’s really not long now until Charlotte & Tom marry at Osmaston Park, so I caught up with them at their venue for an engagement shoot and to talk about all the exciting final details of their day.

Charlotte and Tom, we’re really excited to see you both again, you’ve chosen a beautiful place to marry and it’s going to be just AMAZING.

Becky & Neil xx

Congratulations to the new Mr & Mrs Vincent

If you’re reading this as a guest of James & Kelly’s wedding day, then first of all I’m going to say a thank you.  Your warm hearts and friendship were so clear to see, creating a wonderful day for us to capture, that joined the Sloan and Vincent family with the marriage of ‘Jay’ and Kelly.

I met Kelly at home with mum, dad, aunty and bridesmaid Louise, along with the fabulous Sheelagh Powell.  It was a place of calm wedding preparation after what had probably been a thoughtful week for Kelly’s parents.  Making the trip over from Ireland they’d been faced with flight cancellations due to volcanic ash,  so they’d taken the decision to catch an early ferry to ease their worries.   They were among a few that had travelled the miles to be there for this special day, including family making the trip from Canada and Greece.

Neil joined the guys at the local pub to start capturing their journey to the church, (this is a usual starting post on any groom’s wedding journey!).  Where we all came together at the beautiful St Stephen’s church in Borrowash, to capture the ceremony. Both Kelly and Jay looked stunning, a beautiful match – both inside and out!

Reverend ‘Tim’ created a personal service, his warmth to everyone was admirable and the inclusion of the gift of a ‘Pritt Stick’ and pouring of glasses of champagne, for himself and the newly married couple were charming!

After the ceremony Jay & Kelly drove off by bus with their guests to their reception.  A beautiful venue which is just a few minutes away from their home (and from ours too!).  The beautiful grounds of Draycott House provided the perfect spot for a wedding celebration, with a marquee down by the lake the owners were the perfect hosts.

With a real mixed bag of emotions through the speeches,  lots of laughing …. lots of happy tears, and lots of big thank yous ….. which caused more happy tears!!  The evening then flowed with live music. (I love a bit of live music at a wedding, I become a foot tapping photographer at this point, and it really gets everyone dancing!!)

Mr & Mrs Vincent, we wish you so much happiness, may you hold each other close through your journey’s together.  You have wonderful friends and family to enjoy it with.  Neil & Becky xx

…. love this, M&S Percy Pigs!!!

Here come the speeches …..

Dad made Kelly cry …..

Mum made Jay cry …..

Jay made everyone cry …..

Jay wanted a shot of the boys in the woods, before this shot was taken it was something like a seen of a childhood game of cowboys and indians …..

Paula & Simon's Lincolnshire Engagement

It was Paula and Simon’s engagement shoot last weekend and Becky met them over at their wedding venue The Golf Hotel Woodhall Spa, in Lincolnshire.  From there we then took a drive to see their picturesque church.

It’s not long now until they marry, it’s flown so quickly since we met and chatted about their day in it’s early planning stages – we’re all now very excited!!

See you both soon!! Becky xx

A Nottingham City Wedding for Mr & Mrs Gilbert

The beautiful St Barnabas Cathedral in Nottingham City was the special place for John and Sarah to become husband and wife.  Filled with friends and family from all borders of the UK it was such a wonderful place to be, capturing it all!

The morning started with Becky meeting with Sarah at her parent’s house to capture the bridal preparations.  It was a scene of calmness for such a big day with ‘Dad’ becoming more and more excited in seeing his only daughter in her wedding dress.  Neil met with ‘the guys’ at the Cathedral, then we all joined together for what was a beautiful service.  Sarah looked stunning, it’s always exciting to see how our brides will look on their day, and it brings a little heart flutter and ‘arrrr’ moment.

After some photographs in the Cathedral’s tree lined garden everyone left and joined together at Bestwood Lodge Hotel, it was where many guests who had made long journeys (or short ones) could become residents for the weekend and really celebrate!  The reception room had been beautifully decorated by the fabulous Jo and Pete of Cakey Wakey, along with creating the beautiful cake.

After the great laughter of the speeches, Sarah and John showed us what a ‘first dance’ was all about and took to the dance floor like Fred and Ginger!!

Mr & Mrs Gilbert, we wish you all the happiness together, it’s been a true pleasure to join you on your marriage adventure, a joy to hear you take your vows and heart warming to see you dance in to the future together.  Neil & Becky xx
